My objective is not to tell you what you have to do to become successful, nor is it to tell you what I did to become successful. Rather, it is to share a few general ideas with you on what many people through the year have developed on this intriguing concept of success!
As a point of reference, I believe that if we break down this concept into its smallest parts, the whole idea become clearer and more exciting.
You have heard it said that success is a journey, not a destination, and that success must involve goals. But here is where many of the success prophets (or profits, depending on your perspective) leave us hanging. If success is a journey, where did it begin and where, if ever, does it end?
Are we destined to never arrive somewhere? How do we know whether we are still travelling ahead or whether we are merely like the squirrel on the rotating cylinder? Most people run like crazy forever and never seem to get anywhere.
Success is first personal thing. It is different things to different people. What are you after? What's important to you? You! Not your spouse, sale manager or your children. You must first recognize that you are different from others. Your wants are different, your needs are different, your problems are different, your life is different; therefore, your goal must be different.
